A Frenchman is spearheading a project called Paradoxal Surfboards that aims to increase environmental consciousness in surfing. Instead of using materials from the oil sector, Jérémy Lucas envisioned 3D printed surfboards made of more environmentally friendly materials. He has created a material that works with 3D printing from green algae that washes up on the Breton coast, he can produce value by recycling a waste product from the water.

Future models are currently developing the specs for a new thermoformable material that combines recovered Dyneema from offshore racing boats with powdered green algae from beachings.
