The Visionary Lab transforms iconic Vitra chairs using repurposed Levi’s® denim, fusing design, fashion, and sustainability in a bold artistic statement. Icons Re/Outfitted highlights the issue of textile waste through a collection of reimagined chairs by legendary designers such as Charles & Ray Eames, Verner Panton, and George Nelson. The project employs innovative techniques—like 3D weaving, biotextile development, and recycled denim felt—while also drawing on traditional Japanese and African crafts. Each piece challenges perceptions of waste and beauty, inviting dialogue around environmental impact and circular design.
