Gaspard Fleury-Dugy’s Soft Object project explores knitting as a structural material for object and furniture design. Combining digital tools with industrial flat-bed knitting, he develops dense yet soft volumes using spacer structures and thermomorphic yarns, produced without material waste. Forms are first sketched in virtual reality, then translated into knitting programs that generate complex textile geometries. The work highlights how stitch density, yarn behavior, and thermoforming create sculptural surfaces that bridge textile softness with architectural volume.
