Simplifyber is a materials technology company developing a novel 3D molding process designed to reduce the environmental impact, material waste and synthetic fiber dependency associated with conventional soft goods manufacturing.
At the core of the technology is Fybron™, a proprietary liquid formulation based on natural cellulose fibers derived from wood pulp and other plant based feedstocks, combined with non toxic additives. The fiber based liquid can be directly injected into 3D molds and formed into complex soft goods geometries, eliminating the need to first convert fibers into yarns and fabrics.

This fiber to form manufacturing approach bypasses multiple conventional production stages, including spinning, knitting or weaving, cutting and sewing. The resulting structures are formed and bonded at the molecular level, enabling near net shape production with significantly fewer processing steps and reduced material waste. The company states that its process can eliminate approximately 60% of traditional manufacturing steps while addressing material losses across the fashion supply chain. Depending on the formulation and application, the resulting products can be fully bio based and biodegradable, offering an alternative to petroleum derived synthetic textiles.
Simplifyber is targeting everyday products such as T-shirts and footwear, with the ambition of replacing conventional woven and knitted textile constructions. In collaboration with HP, the company has also explored molded footwear uppers using customized natural fiber formulations, demonstrating the potential to extend the technology beyond apparel into other soft goods applications.
